Stock quantities shown by our new shopping cart system are approximate values whilst a stock take is being undertaken.

Postage Costs (UK)

Postage is calculated from the amount you order. Below shows the range of postage charges according to the amount in your basket.

Standard Postage

New Modellers Shop aims to provide same day dispatch on most orders placed before 5:00pm on weekdays. All items are carefully boxed and shipped via Royal mail 1st Class as standard and should be with you within 5 working days (usually the following day). If your item is not in stock it may take up to 10 working days for delivery. If this is the case you will be informed via email.

There are many reasons out of our control which may result in late delivery. If we discover a problem you will be emailed, but once the item has left New Modellers Shop it is down to royal mail to deliver on time.

Royal Mail Next Day Special Delivery Option (by phone only)

There is also the option to choose next day special delivery.

Under 2kg - £9.50

Between 2-10kg - £20.00 (any overpaid postage will be refunded)

Parcel Force - Train sets - Train Sets can be sent Guaranteed 1 Working Day Delivery by Parcel Force (if an order is placed and payment authorised by 3pm). Please select Parcel Force Next Day Delivery guaranteed by 5:30pm option on the basket screen.

Additional Postage Terms And Conditions

Orders of next day delivery must be placed before 3:00 for delivery next day (Monday to Friday). Orders placed at the weekend will be sent on the Monday for delivery on Tuesday (unless a bank holiday). You will be emailed if items of your order are out of stock. If items are not in stock you will be given an estimated time of arrival and the option to cancel part or all of your order / have your additional postage refunded / or to send the items special delivery when they arrive. You will be contacted if your order weighs more than the additional postage you have purchased.

Postage Costs (EU)

If you live outside of the United Kingdom postage will be charged at cost. If you would like to know the exact postage cost then please email us with your order details at info@newmodellersshop.co.uk.

Postage Costs (Rest of the World)

Postage is charged at Cost. We reserve the right to refuse to ship items to some international countries. If you would like to know the exact postage cost then please email us with your order details at info@newmodellersshop.co.uk.

We cannot ship to the United States or Canada.

Packaging

New Modellers Shop is aware that the packaging of models needs to be of a high quality for collectors. New modellers shop however cannot guarantee the condition of the packaging of the products. The packaging is designed to protect the model and not to look good. If you are a collector and need the boxes to be of a high standard please email me first (click here for email) and I will check the items in stock and inform you of the quality of the packaging. Many items come to us from the Hornby stockist with imperfections on the packaging and this is why we cant guarantee its condition.

Orders Returned to Sender

New Modellers Shop Ltd reserves the right to charge postage for orders returned to us where a charge from the postal company is incurred. The re-sending of items will require an additional postal charge. The customer is liable for any orders shipped that are lost if an incorrect address has been supplied.

What does DCC Ready / DCC Fitted mean?

DCC Ready - means that the locomotive comes pre-fitted with a socket for a DCC chip to be plugged into.

DCC Fitted - means that the locomotive has been pre-fitted with a DCC Chip.

Payment

New Modellers Shop can accept payments via the following methods

• Payment via our secure checkout page (using Credit & Debit Card) (SSL VeriSign 128bit encryption)

• PayPal

• Google Checkout (using Credit & Debit Card)

• Cheque and Postal Orders (via our checkout)

• Telephone (using Credit & Debit Card)

At no time does New Modellers Shop hold or see your card details when you place an order via the website. All details are inputted on a secure site and only the order information is sent to us.

All cards will be automatically charged on receipted of an order, including item that are out of stock or pre-order. If you would prefer to pay for the goods at the time they become available please email us your order to info@newmodellersshop.co.uk or phone us on 01733 704502.

Price

New Modellers makes every effort to ensure the price on the website is correct. If for whatever reason the price stated on the website is incorrect we are not obliged to supply goods at the advertised price. Where this is the case you will be notified of the error giving you the option to cancel your order.

Returns Policy

The distant selling regulations gives you the right to return any items within 7 days of ordering if for any reason you change you mind. The items must be returned to us un-opened and in the condition it was sent. New Modellers Shop will then refund you for the value of the product, minus the cost of postage and card fees (please note that postage fees may be more then the set amount paid during checkout, as the cost of postage is often subsidised within the price of the goods).

If you wish to do this we must be notified in writing by email info@newmodellersshop.co.uk

If an incorrect item is sent to you and the item is returned unopened, we will refund you the cost of postage and send you the correct item if possible. If this is not possible we will refund you for the item ordered. Please email us if this happens before you return the item and suggest the most appropriate method of postage. Normally we will only refund 2nd class post.

If you have a problem with a Hornby model, you have one of two options.

1) Return it to New Modellers Shop for a replacement.

or

2) Take it to your local Hornby's Service dealers. If it is in warranty the repairs will be FREE OF CHARGE. There is usually a list of these which comes with your model. We recommend this option as in most cases it is quicker and easier for you. We can also locate your nearest Hornby service dealer for you.

Stock Notification Descriptions

• Not Currently Available - Item is out of stock and we are unable to obtain the product until the manufacturers next production run. This may also mean that the item no longer being produced by Manufacturer.

• On-order - Item is currently out of stock. Stock has been ordered from our supplier, and shall be shipped once received.

• Discontinued -  Item is no longer being produced by Manufacturer

New Modellers Shop cannot guarantee that an item is in stock. Even if an item is on our site and does not state that it is either "Not currently available" or "On-Order" or "Discontinued" this does not mean it is in stock. The website is updated constantly but as we also accept telephone orders there is the possibility that for a short period of time the amount of stock displayed by the site will be incorrect. The site allows for items to be order which are not in stock as we receive delivery's daily and items that were out of stock will be back in stock within a few days.

If this is the case you will be emailed to ask whether you want to wait for the items or if would like to cancel the order. If you wish to cancel, the full amount paid to us will be refunded. We apologise in advance if the item you require is not in stock.

VAT (Value Added Tax)

All prices on this site include UK VAT (15%)

VAT for Non-EU countries is used to subside postage where possible, and postage will be charged at no more than cost.

VAT for the Channel Island will be refunded after the increased postage charge is deducted.

Knives and Solvent Based Products

The sale of Knives and Solvent Based Products are prohibited by Law (Within the UK) to those under 18 years of age. By adding any of these items to your basket your are confirming that you are over 18 years of age.

New Modellers Shop Ltd is a UK company and is governed by and construed in the law of the United Kingdom and all disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts
