Postage Costs (UK)
Postage is calculated from the value of the order placed.
Below shows the range of postage charges according to the amount in your
basket.
Standard Postage - 1st Class Royal Mail
Order Value from £0.01 to £14.99 - Postage Charge is £2.95
Order Value Over £15.00 (no maximum) - Postage Charge is £4.50
New Modellers Shop aims to provide same day dispatch on most
orders placed before 4:30pm on weekdays. All items are carefully boxed and
shipped via Royal Mail 1st Class Postal Service as standard and should be
with you within 5 working days (usually the following day). If your item is
not in stock it may take up to 10 working days for delivery. Any further
delays an email notification shall be sent.
There are many reasons out of our control which may result in
late delivery. If we discover a problem you will be emailed, but once the
item has left New Modellers Shop Ltd it is down to Royal Mail to deliver on
time.
Parcel Force
Orders can be sent "Guaranteed 1 Working Day Delivery" by Parcel Force 24 (if an
order is placed and payment is authorised by 3pm). Please select 24hr
Courier Placed Before 3pm option on the basket screen.
Orders can also be sent "Guaranteed 2 Working Day Delivery" by Parcel Force
48 (if an
order is placed and payment is authorised by 3pm). Please select 48hr
Courier Placed Before 3pm option on the basket screen.
Royal Mail Next Day Special Delivery Option (by
phone only)
There is also the option to choose next day special delivery
up until 4:30.
Under 2kg - £10
Between 2-10kg - £25 (any overpaid postage will be
refunded)
Additional Postage Terms And
Conditions - Next Day and 48h Delivery
Orders of next day delivery must be placed before
3:00pm for delivery next day (Monday to Friday).
Please note that orders placed on Friday
(before the relevant times) will be delivered on the following
Monday (not Saturday) and orders placed at
the weekend will be sent on the Monday for delivery on Tuesday
(Except when the delivery day is a bank holiday when orders will be
delivered on the next working day). You will be emailed if items of your order
are out of stock. If items are not in stock you will be given an
estimated time of arrival and the option to cancel part or all of
your order / have your additional postage refunded / or to send the
items when they arrive.
Postage Costs (EU)
If you live outside of the United Kingdom postage will be
charged at cost. If you would like to know the exact postage cost then
please email us with your order details to

Postage Costs (Rest of the World)
Postage is charged at cost. We reserve the right to refuse to
ship items to some international countries. If you would like to
know the exact postage cost then please email us with your order

We do not ship to: United States, Canada, Africa, Central and
South America (Excluding
British Overseas Territory e.g. Falklands Islands)
Packaging
New Modellers Shop Ltd is aware that the packaging of models
needs to be of a high quality for collectors. New Modellers Shop Ltd however
cannot guarantee the condition of the packaging of the products. The
packaging is designed to protect the model and not necessarily for its
aesthetics. If you are
a collector and need the boxes to be of a high standard please email me
first (click
here for email) and we will check the items in stock and inform you of
the quality of the packaging. Many items come to us from
manufactures and suppliers
with imperfections on the packaging and this is why we are unable to
guarantee the packagings condition.
Orders Returned to Sender
New Modellers Shop Ltd reserves the right to charge postage
for orders returned to us where a charge from the postal company is
incurred. The re-sending of items will require an additional postal charge.
The customer is liable for any orders shipped that are lost if an incorrect
address has been supplied.
What does DCC Ready / DCC Fitted mean?
DCC Ready - The
locomotive comes pre-fitted with a socket for a DCC chip to be plugged into.
DCC Fitted - The
locomotive has already been pre-fitted with a DCC Chip.

At no time does New Modellers Shop Ltd hold or see your card
details when you place an order via our website. All details are inputted on
a secure site and only the order information is sent to us.
All cards will be automatically charged on receipt of an order, including
items that are out of stock or pre-order.

Price
New Modellers Shop Ltd makes every effort to ensure the price on the
website is correct. If for whatever reason the price stated on the website
is incorrect we are not obliged to supply goods at the advertised price.
Where this is the case you will be notified of the error giving you the
option to cancel your order.
All prices are displayed inclusive of UK VAT and are payable in British Pounds.

Returns Policy
The distant selling regulations gives you the right to return
any items within 7 days of ordering if for any reason you change
you mind. The items must be returned to us un-opened and in the
condition it was sent. New Modellers Shop will then refund you
for the total value of your order including postage unless
either; only part of the order was retuned or; a postage option
other than standard delivery was selected, in which case postage
will not be refunded. Return postage will not be refunded as we
are under no obligation to do so under distant selling
regulations.
If you wish to do this we must be notified in writing by email
info@newmodellersshop.co.uk
If an incorrect item is sent to you and the item is returned
unopened, we will refund you the cost of postage and send you the correct
item if possible. If this is not possible we will refund you for the item
ordered. Please contact us before you return the item so we can suggest the
most appropriate method of postage. Normally we will only refund
2nd class post unless agreed in advanced. Please ask for a proof
of postage certificate from the post office. This is free of
charge.
If you have a problem with a Hornby model, you have three options.

Return the item to New Modellers Shop for a replacement
(if available).

Send the item to Hornby for a repair
(see details below)

Take it to your local Hornby's Service
dealers for a free warrenty repair. (Please check it is free
as some service centre's will not do warranty repairs free
of charge. New Modellers Shop will not pay for the repair
and instead require you to choose option 1 or 2 instead.)
Please contact us if you have a problem with your model as we
can offer advice and suggest solutions which may solve your
problem without the need to return it to us. Many models require
general maintenance to keep them running well. Failure to do
general maintenance may give you the impression that the model
is faulty when it is not. New Modellers Shop will not compensate
for the cost of returning a faulty item to us if it is found not
to be faulty. This includes models that have been poorly
maintained. New Modellers Shop reserves the right to charge (£)
for the maintenance to be carried out to prove that the item is
not faulty and to charge (£) for the cost of returning the item
back to the customer. When you call us we will go through a list
of possible solutions which if answered honestly will prevent
you returning an faulty model.

Lost Orders
A customers order is considered lost if it
has not been received from the date of dispatch within the
following timeframes:
Royal Mail: - 15 working days
Royal Mail Special Delivery – 10 days
Airmail (Europe): - 20
working days
Airmail (Rest of the world): - 30 working days
Parcel Force: 24 – 2 days
Parcel Force: 48 – 3 days

Force International Priority: - 10 days

If you order is lost (as
defined above) you MUST notify
us within the following time frames for a claim to be made and
your order resent or refunded:

Failure to notify us within the time
frame specified above will result in your claim being rejected
(No refund or replacements will be sent). Customers are advised
to track their orders if tracking numbers have been provided.
Stock Notification Descriptions

Not Currently Available - Product is out
of stock and we are unable to obtain the product until the manufacturers
next production run. This may also mean that the item no longer being
produced by the Manufacturer. If the item is a pre-order we may have removed
the item from sale because we are unsure of the number we will be allocated.

(On-order) - Product is currently out of stock.
Stock has been ordered from our supplier, and shall be shipped once
received.

Discontinued - Product is no longer being
produced by Manufacturer
New Modellers Shop Ltd cannot guarantee that an item is in stock, even if an
item is on our site and does not state that it is either "Not currently
available", "On-Order" or "Discontinued" this does not mean
that it is in stock. The website is updated constantly but as we also accept
telephone orders there is the possibility that for a short period of time,
the amount of stock displayed by the site may be incorrect. The site allows
for items to be order which are not in stock, because we receive delivery's daily
and items that were out of stock will be back in stock within a few days.

VAT (Value Added Tax)
All prices on this site include UK VAT (20% as of the 4th January 2011)
VAT for Non-EU - Orders placed to countries outside of the EU
will not be charged VAT
VAT for the Channel Island will not be charged so long as you select Jersey
or Guernsey from the country list. IF you select United Kingdom
you will be charged VAT but this will be refunded.
Knives and Solvent Based Products
The sale of Knives
and Solvent Based Products are prohibited by Law (Within the UK) to those under
18 years of age. By adding any of these items to your basket your are confirming
that you are over 18 years of age.
