1.76 Scale
British Rail Personnel Carrier.
Our 1:76 Bedford TK
tooling sees more introductions this month, some of
which will be of particular interest to 00 gauge railway
enthusiasts of the British Rail era. There is also a
tanker, especially for collectors of brewery vehicles.
The Bedford TK was produced by the Vauxhall-owned
Bedford company. It was introduced in 1959 and had a
variety of uses, including fire engines, military
vehicles, flatbed trucks and other specialist utility
vehicles.

Oxford Diecast Watneys Bedford TK
Barrel Truck
Product Code: 76TK008
Production Details:
We can also date our 1:76 scale
Bedford TK quite accurately and it's safe to say it was
transporting barrels of Watney's beer from the end of
the 1950s. The TK replaced the S type Bedford truck in
1959 and was used extensively as the ideal light truck
of the era, right into the 1970s.

Oxford Diecast Leyland Car
Transporter Rover
Product Code: 76LTR001
Production Details:
Land Rover commissioned a fleet of specially built
Leyland Transporters, designed so the Land Rovers could
be delivered with their windscreens folded flat on the
bonnet and the hoops and canvas folded onto the rear
body.
Brand new tooling brings you an Oxford replica of the
Transporter and Trailer, which are available separately.
You can also add as many Land Rovers as you like to load
onto your Transporter, creating further realism. Under
model number 76LAN180005, the Land Rovers are decorated
in plain Bronze Green. A word of warning for those who
try and fit earlier versions of the Land Rover on the
transporters, they won’t fit below deck - because they
are not meant to.

Shelvoke & Drewry Dustcart
Product Code: 76SD001
Production Details:
There are no flies on this one! A superb piece of new
tooling adds a period dustcart to the Oxford range of
commercials. Our research proved fascinating in
unearthing the origins and vehicles of the Shelvoke and
Drewry company who in their heyday manufactured
innovative waste collection vehicles, the preferred
choice of municipal authorities throughout the UK.
Founded in 1922 by Harry Shelvoke and James Drewry, the
Letchworth based company also manufactured fire engines,
buses and forklift trucks. During WWII, like many
manufacturers, they switched their output to the
production of components for the war effort. Sadly
Shelvoke and Drewry were taken over in the 1980s by an
American company - Dempster Brothers, which subsequently
suffered financial problems. Part of the company was
integrated with Dennis, who had been Shelvoke and
Drewrys main rival in times gone by. Dennis-Shelvoke
continued for a while but ceased trading in 1992. The
rear tips 90 degrees and also we supply an additional
component which allows it to be posed tipping rubbish.

Product Code:
VOL02REC
Production Details:
This
authentically decorated model is only the second release
on the newly tooled Volvo Boniface Recovery Vehicle
introduced earlier this year. Sovereign Recovery was
founded in 2001 by Edward and Doug Pope. Motor engineers
by profession, they answered an emergency call-out to
help a colleague and - as they say - rest is
history. Sovereign now has contracts with all the
leading transport operations in London and the Home
Counties, including Arriva, First Bus, Stagecoach,
Metroline and Transport for London.
A1 Marsden of Northern Ireland.
Irish liveries are highly sought after by diecast
vehicle collectors, so the third Volvo release on the
recently introduced and very modern Oxford Diecast
Boniface wrecker will be of special interest to those of
you who enjoy the release of models from this part of
the British Isles. In its authentic bright yellow and
red chequered design livery, it sits well alongside the
previous two releases in the series- namely Albert Road
and then Sovereign Recovery.
