Production Details:
Donald Malcolm was just 14 when he inherited the family business in the
1940s. Its assets were a single truck and a horse and cart. By 1960, when
the firm was acquired by Grampian Holdings, Donald had built it up to a
fleet of 37 vehicles - plus seven items of plant. In January 2002, Grampian
Holdings plc was renamed The Malcolm Group plc and was fully listed on the
UK Stock Exchange, before being taken private again by the Malcolm family in
2005.
