Airfix Themed Plastic Kit CollectionsAirfix - D-Day 75th Anniversary Operation Overlord Set (A50162A)
Early on the morning of June 6th 1944 the combined forces of the
Allied armies landed on the Normandy beaches in Northern France in the most
ambitious and important operation of the Second World War. With airborne troops
already on the ground and fighting, the sea-borne element of the force began
landing. This phase of the operation was codenamed Neptune and consisted of five
invasion beaches, three British and Canadian (Sword, Gold and Juno) and two American
beaches (Omaha and Utah). The landings themselves were preceded both by a powerful
air attack and by a fierce naval artillery barrage from a vast armada of ships
anchored off-shore. (This Gift set includes paints, brushes and glue)
Airfix - 75TH Anniversary D-Day Sea Assault Set - 1:72 (A50156A)
While the first Allied soldiers landed in Normandy via parachute during the night of the 5th and 6th of June 1944, the vast majority of the liberating Allied troops would have to come via the sea, landing on Normandy's beaches under heavy fire and fighting their way inland. The Allies had various different types of landing craft for getting men ashore. Some were very large like the Landing Ship Tank (LST), some much smaller like the small amphibious DUKW but it was the Higgins LCVP (Landing Craft, Vehicle, Personnel) which proved to be one of the most important types used. Employed to transport the majority of US Personnel, as well as many British troops when they were used by the Royal Navy, they were vital because they could very quickly offload men and small vehicles, such as Jeeps, while under fire. Jeeps were vital because they offered the Allies mobility in the earliest hours of the campaign. The LCVPs were also able to return fire with their compliment of two .30 inch machine guns, helping to protect the troops that they were disembarking. Overall D-day was a success, thanks in no small part to the work of boats like these and their crews.
Airfix - 75TH Anniversary D-Day Air Assault Set - 1:72 (A50157A)
On the eve of June the 6th 1944, the vast majority of mainland
Europe was either under the control of Hitler's Nazi regime, or heavily influenced
by it. Only Britain stood free in Europe and openly opposed the fascist regime then
seeking to control the world. Supported by the United States and Canada, as well as
troops from the then occupied nations, the 6th of June marked the Western Allies
return to France after the humiliation of the evacuation from Dunkirk in 1940. The
invasion required the Allies to hold total air superiority over the Normandy landing
grounds. The lead up to the day had seen thousands of sorties carried out by Allied
aircraft. From heavy bombers relentlessly pounding targets of strategic important in
France, to fighter bombers such as the Hawker Typhoon that attacked enemy troop
formations and smaller targets - the Allied air assault was total. (This Airfix starter set includes paints, brushes and glue)

Airfix - Twin Pack - Eurofighter Typhoon FGR.4 (GINA) + Hawker Hurricane Mk.I - 1:72 Product Code: A40002 (Pre-Order Due Summer 2026) As Britain prepared to mark the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain in 2015, an aircraft unveiling at RAF Coningsby captured the imagination of enthusiasts and modellers alike, as one of the RAF’s cutting-edge Eurofighter Typhoon FGR.4 jets had a smart new paint scheme, which took its inspiration from a famous Fighter Command aircraft from 1940. This high-tech multi-role jet aircraft had been painted in a scheme similar to that worn by the Hawker Hurricane Mk.I flown by Flight Lieutenant James Brindley Nicolson on 16th August 1940, the day on which his actions in combat earned him a Victoria Cross - the only VC awarded to a Fighter Command pilot during the entire war.

Airfix - Twin Pack - Eurofighter Typhoon FGR.4 (Blackjack) + Shorts Tucano T.1 - 1:72 Product Code: A40003 (Pre-Order Due Spring 2026) When it comes to specially presented RAF Typhoon FGR.4 display aircraft of the past 10 years, the one which served the longest on the UK airshow circuit, and was unquestionably the most patriotic in appearance was ZJ914. Resplendent in a smart all-over black Aggressor scheme, the aircraft also benefited from union flag style markings and an RAF roundel on each side of its tail, and no matter what the weather, when this aircraft displayed with afterburners engaged, it was an aviation sight to behold. The scheme was similar to the one worn by the RAF Shorts Tucano T.1 display during the 2008 season, which also had a black airframe, with red, white and blue detailing to mark the 90th anniversary of the Royal Air Force. Two Tucanos were presented in this manner: ZF210 and ZE338, with one serving as a reserve should the assigned display aircraft become unserviceable.

Airfix - Swedish Air Force 100th Anniversary Set - 1:72 Product Code: A40004 (Pre-Order Due June 2026) To mark this year’s centenary commemorations of the formation of the Swedish Air Force, this model set charts the development of the force from one which purchased overseas aircraft types, to one of the most powerful air forces in the world. By the start of the Second World War, the Swedish Air Force consisted of 180 aircraft of different types, but mainly purchased from countries such as Britain, the US, Germany, and Italy. Their first indigenous design was introduced in 1942, but in order to defend their neutrality, they continued strengthening with aircraft produced overseas. This continued into the jet age, however, Sweden was working hard to develop their own jet fighters, and when the most significant came, it was something very special: the SAAB J35 Draken supersonic interceptor. Since then, Sweden has continued to produce impressive new aircraft, often operating them from dispersed sites using public roads as runways, with SAAB cars sharing the road with SAAB fighters.

Airfix - Legends - Douglas Bader - Triple Pack - 1:48 Product Code: A40101 (Pre-Order Due May 2026) When Britain was standing alone
against the might of the all-conquering German war machine, they needed
heroes to steel the nation to its duty - men like Douglas Bader. Joining
the Royal Air Force in 1928, Bader was a gifted sportsman with the
reputation of a thrill seeker. However, he struggled with the academic
side of life at Cranwell. Douglas Bader’s story of courage and
determination inspired Britain in her darkest hours, and when a victory
flypast took place over London at the end of the war, it was hero Bader
who led the formation in a Spitfire.

1:72 (A06304)

Airfix - Space Shuttle Gift Set - 1:144 Product Code: A50200
Surely one of the most impressive sights any human can ever hope to see is the awe-inspiring launch of a mighty rocket spacecraft, be that in person, or more likely, on our TV screens. Following the success of NASA’s Apollo program, their next phase in space exploration was to develop a partially reusable, low-earth orbital space transportation system to allow more astronauts to travel into space by further extending the boundaries of engineering excellence. For this spacecraft combination to work as intended, one million individual components had to work in unison and, over 30 years, five of these Space Shuttles successfully achieved earth orbit, with ‘Discovery’ becoming their most active craft. This incredible spacecraft completed 39 flight missions and spent 365 days in space. (This Gift Set includes Acrylic Paints, Poly-Cement Glue and a Brush)

Airfix - Saturn V Gift Set - 1:144 Product Code: A50201
If there’s one machine which underlines man’s mastery of technological innovation and ability to overcome insurmountable challenges, then it's the Saturn V rocket series. It was the largest and most powerful flying machine the world had ever seen when it made its first test launch in November 1967. A super heavy-lift launch vehicle developed by NASA in support of their Apollo program and America’s desire to place human beings on the moon in the 1960s and 70s, everything about the Saturn V was incredible, from the immense power of its launch sequence to the graceful way it pierced earth’s atmosphere and onwards into space. The Saturn V stands tall as one of the great engineering achievements of the 20th century. Contents: Plastic model kit, acrylic paint, Poly cement, brush, instruction sheet, paint layout sheet and decals. (This Gift Set includes Acrylic Paints, Poly-Cement Glue and a Brush)
Airfix - SLS Artemis Gift Set - 1:144 Product Code: A50202
Allowing a new generation of the earth’s population to witness the development and achievements of a NASA space program, the Space Launch System is their latest and most powerful rocket launch system, intended to take mankind to the moon and beyond. The latest generation of super-heavy-lift launch vehicle, to the uninitiated, SLS and the Orion spacecraft capsule almost appears to be a combination of Apollo and Space Shuttle technologies, however, this incredible program represents the pinnacle of engineering technology taking man deeper into space than ever before. Blasting off for an unmanned maiden launch on 16th November 2022, the first manned launch is planned for 2025, when the Orion capsule will embark on a lunar flyby. Contents: Plastic model kit, acrylic paint, Poly cement, brush, instruction sheet, paint layout sheet and decals. (This Gift Set includes Acrylic Paints, Poly-Cement Glue and a Brush)
Revell - Apollo 11 Lunar Module Eagle - 1:48 (03701)
"Houston, this is Tranquility Base. The eagle has
landed." With these words the world heard that man had finally reached the
moon. The Apollo 11 lunar module "Eagle" landed on July 20, 1969 and became
the first dwelling on the moon. Neil Armstrong was the first man to enter
the moon. (This 'Model Set' includes base paints, and glue)

Airfix - One Small Step For Man... Product Code: A50106 (Pre-Order Due May 2026) On 20th July 1969, the world watched in awe as NASA astronaut Neil Armstrong set foot on the surface of the moon, and delivered a statement which stands as one of the most famous in human history – “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” Although this is the line which is often quoted when recounting this historic first lunar step, does it actually make sense? In the years which followed and during interviews, Neil Armstrong maintains that what he actually said was, “That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind”, which makes complete sense and is historically profound. Either way, this 1:72 scale space model kit gift set is a lot of fun to build. (This gift set includes paints, brushes and glue)
