Hot Laps amps up the racing fun, without the need for extra hardware, so it is fully compatible with existing tracks and cars. Simply place your smart device onto the cardboard race gantry included and select your preferred race mode. The camera on the device uses motion detection so when the car zooms under the gantry the app counts a lap - super easy and tons of fun!

Resplendent in David Piper's usual green livery, this beautiful 330 P4 is representative of the well-travelled racer of the 1960s. Featuring at LeMans and in the LeMans movie, where an accident saw him lose a leg, Piper was one of the quickest privateer racers of the period. Driving many different machines, including the fearsome Porsche 917, Piper was often to be seen in a beautiful sports racing car, fighting tooth and nail at the front of the field.

Scalextric Ford GT40 - BOAC 500 1968 - Drury / Holland

One of the main pairs of British privateers to use the GT40 after it had largely ceased to be a competitive prospect at the front of the Sports Car field, Terry Drury and Keith Holland qualified for the BOAC 1000KMs in a healthy 22nd place. During the race, the pair faired well, lasting 91 laps of the sweeping and majestic Brands Hatch GP loop before being stopped by low oil pressure. The car itself was one of the most stunning GT40s of the period. Its gold-over-black colour scheme looked fantastic and the car was always immaculately presented. Now available from Scalextric, this GT40 is a perfect partner to your other 1960s Sports Racing Cars.

Scalextric Jaguar XJS - 1986 Bathurst 1000 - Goss + Muir

The 1986 running of Australia’s great race, the Toohey’s 1000, saw John Goss and Bob Muir team up in this very pretty, but very powerful, class C Jaguar XJS. The largely white livery, broken only by the blue cheat line and mirror text, looked fantastic as the car hurtled around the famous Mount Panorama course to a 24th-place finish. A far cry from the dominant win the XJS achieved in 1984, but time was catching up to the big Jag, and other cars had made strides in the all-important development race.
