Luigi Chinettis North American Racing Team (NART) was basically an extension of Ferraris racing program that reached across the Atlantic, in 1972 NART had a spare entry for LeMans and his relationship with Goodyear meant that this Corvette was accepted as an NART entry and while entered as a Corvette, it has the famous horse badge painted on the side! In the race itself it had an auspicious start, a practice crash saw it race with a taped-up nose, but the car finished 15th overall, 7th in class and captured many imaginations with its unusual decoration!

While most associate the big Chrysler Hemicuda with racing across the USA the car also found some notable success racing in Europe. While Chrysler France raced the car successfully the model was also found racing in the Spa 24 hours in the early 1970s. This big Levis sponsored machine raced in the 1973 edition. Dwarfing the Ford Capris and BMW CSLs the big American beast was superbly fast in a straight line, but suffered in the swoops and bends of the Spa circuit. The 1970 Hardie-Ferodo 500 was the twelfth running of the Bathurst 500 touring car race. It was held on 4 October 1970 at the Mount Panorama Circuit just outside Bathurst. The race was open to standard production sedans competing in five classes based on the purchase price of the vehicle (in Australian dollars). After qualifying in 1st Allan Moffat won his first Bathurst endurance race leading home Bruce McPhee in a one-two result for the Ford Works Team and their Ford Falcons. It was the fifth race victory for the factory team. Third, a lap behind the Fords, was Don Holland driving a Holden Torana.

Held at Montjuich Circuit, the 1969 Spanish Grand Prix took place on 4th May and was the second round of the 1969 season. A famous race of high attrition and danger due to the rear wings of many of the drivers failing, causing several crashes. This led to the race being the end of the high wing era of Formula 1 racing. Jacky Ickx was in second position behind Stewart, but in the closing laps he suffered rear suspension failure and retired.

Mansell led away from the start but had to retire on lap 30 with turbo problems and Senna cruised into the lead. Despite a pit stop for tyres he maintained this lead to the end of the race, emerging victorious over the Williams of Nelson Piquet. Not only was this the first victory for Ayrton round Monaco, but it was also the first victory for a car with active suspension.
