Airfix 2026 Plastic Kits
Airfix - One Small Step For Man... Product Code: A50106 (Pre-Order Due May 2026) On 20th July 1969, the world watched in awe as NASA astronaut Neil Armstrong set foot on the surface of the moon, and delivered a statement which stands as one of the most famous in human history – “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” Although this is the line which is often quoted when recounting this historic first lunar step, does it actually make sense? In the years which followed and during interviews, Neil Armstrong maintains that what he actually said was, “That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind”, which makes complete sense and is historically profound. Either way, this 1:72 scale space model kit gift set is a lot of fun to build. (This gift set includes paints, brushes and glue)
Airfix - Sink The Bismarck! Gift Set - 1:1200 Product Code: A50120 (Pre-Order Due May 2026) As one of the most powerful battleships to have ever taken to sea, Bismarck posed a huge threat to the Royal Navy and Britain’s vital sea lanes, a threat which had to be neutralised. With the loss of HMS Hood, the Admiralty were determined to destroy Bismarck, and a mighty task force was sent to hunt her down. The scene was set for a mighty clash of warships in the North Atlantic, and the demise of one of the world’s great battleships. (This Airfix Starter Set includes paints, brushes and glue)
Airfix - Pearl Harbor Gift Set - 1:72 Product Code: A50180 (Pre-Order Due October 2026) At 7.55am on Sunday 7th December 1941, the US Naval Base at Pearl Harbor was subjected to a devastating surprise attack mounted by the Japanese Navy. Launching from six aircraft carriers in two strong attack waves, over 400 strike and fighter aircraft targeted the US Pacific Fleet moored at Pearl Harbor and the airfields at Ford Island, Hickam Field, Bellows Field and Wheeler Field. Despite inflicting significant damage, they awoke a military giant, and a nation determined to secure ultimate victory. This Pearl Harbor model kit Gift Set brings that famous event to life on your workbench in 1:72 scale. (This Airfix Starter Set includes paints, brushes and glue)
Airfix - Curtiss P-40B Warhawk - 1:72 Product Code: A01003C (Pre-Order Due October 2026) During the early war years when the RAF were desperate for additional modern fighter types, the Curtiss-Wright Corporation of America supplied them with export versions of their new P-40B fighter, a capable performer at lower altitudes. The Desert Air Force adorned their aircraft with fearsome shark mouths, making these some of the most famous aircraft of the entire war.

Airfix - North American F-86F/E(M) Sabre - 1:72 Product Code: A02070 (Pre-Order Due November 2026) Rugged and extremely reliable, when the US Navy began fighting back in the aftermath of the Pearl Harbor attack, it was the diminutive F4F Wildcat which protected US carriers and cleared the skies of Japanese aircraft. American pilots learned not to dogfight with the agile Mitsubishi Zero, allowing the rugged Wildcat to hold the line in the Pacific until the exceptional F6F Hellcat could be introduced.
Paints required but not included: (Scheme A) 11, 24, 33, 34, 53, 56, 60, 61, 62, 85 (Scheme B) 11, 24, 33, 34, 53, 56, 60, 61, 62, 85
Airfix - Nakajima B5N2 ‘Kate' - 1:72 Product Code: A04058 (Pre-Order Due Autumn 2026) At the start of the Second World War, Japanese forces had some of the most capable naval aeroplanes equipping their mighty carrier fleet, including the recently upgraded Nakajima B5N2 Kate. Striking with torpedoes and bombs, these aircraft took a heavy toll of US warships during the devastating Pearl Harbor attack on 7th December 1941.

Airfix - Lockheed F-117A Nighthawk Product Code: A05033A (Pre-Order Due June 2026) One of the most unusual aircraft to have ever taken to world skies, the F-117 Nighthawk was one of the spectacular aviation creations of Lockheed’s famous ‘Skunk Works’, a high-tech attack aircraft which benefited from the latest stealth technology. Officially retired by the US Air Force in 2008, these secretive aircraft proved too valuable to do without and are still being used to fly their highly classified missions to this day.

Airfix - English Electric Canberra B.2 - 1:72 Product Code: A05065 (Pre-Order Due June 2026) Although the Lancashire-based English Electric Company had gained plenty of experience in building aircraft during the Second World War, they were not aircraft they had designed themselves, so when they entered the design race to produce the replacement for the famous de Havilland Mosquito, many did not expect them to be in the final running.

Airfix - Douglas C-47A/D Skytrain Product Code: A08014 (Pre-Order Due January 2026) Described by General Eisenhower as one of the four weapons that helped the Allies to win the Second World War, the Douglas DC3 and its military variant the C-47 Skytrain (Dakota in RAF service) has since gone on to be an instantly recognizable symbol of both air travel and the liberation of occupied lands that so characterized the Second World War. Continuing to serve even today in both modernized and original formats the DC3/C-47 is now seen as a pioneer of air travel. Scheme A: Douglas C-47D Skytrain, 41- AA0237005 AA0237 "Kilroy is Here", 92nd Troop Carrier Squadron/439th Troop Carrier Group, Operation "Overlord", Upottery, Devon, England, 6th June 1944 Scheme B: Douglas C-47D Skytrain, 43-16062 Military Air Transport Service (MATS), Isachsen Airstrip, North West Territory, Canada, 9th October 1949

Airfix - Junkers Ju52/3mg4e Product Code: A08022 (Pre-Order Due June 2026) A truly great aeroplanes of the 20th century, the Junkers Ju52 actually started life as a single-engined freight-carrying aircraft which made its first flight in October 1930. Just six months later, the 3m (three motor) variant of this aircraft had announced itself to the aviation world, offering much greater power and the reassurance of multi-engined operation.

Airfix - Avro Shackleton AEW.2 / MR.2 Product Code: A11013 (Pre-Order Due August 2026) Tracing its lineage back to the famous Lancaster of
the Second World War, the Avro Shackleton was a long-range maritime
patrol aircraft used primarily for anti-submarine operations, but it was
also required to perform several other roles. Entering RAF service in
1951, the majority of Shackletons were powered by the mighty Rolls Royce
Griffon engine, and became the last aircraft in the illustrious line of
four-engined propeller-powered bomber/strike aircraft to see service
with the Royal Air Force. The decision to scrap HMS Ark Royal left the
Royal Navy concerned that their ships would lose vital airborne early
warning cover, however, a proposal to fit the radar units from Ark
Royal’s former AEW Fairey Gannets to RAF Avro Shackletons allayed those
fears.

Airfix - Bristol Bulldog Mk.IIA Product Code: A05145 (Pre-Order Due January 2026) This Bristol Bulldog Mk.IIA is a secret release that will inspire aviation model-makers. This legendary aircraft has three scheme options to choose from, so you can decorate your 1:48 scale model kit in a variety of ways. Scheme A: Bristol Bulldog Mk.IIA, No.23 Squadron, Royal Air Force Kenley, England, 1931. (A) Scheme B: Bristol Bulldog Mk.IIA, 'C' Flight Commander, No.3 Squadron, Royal Air Force, Abyssinian Crisis, East Africa, 1935. (B) Scheme C: Bristol Bulldog Mk.IIA, No.32 Squadron, Royal Air Force Kenley, England, 1935. (C)

Airfix - De Havilland Vampire F.3 Product Code: A06107A (Pre-Order Due July 2026) Although the De Havilland Vampire F.3 is still regarded as an example of early jet technology, it was cleverly designed to be simple to maintain and operate, earning the aircraft an enviable reputation for reliability, and allowing plenty of pilots to safely make the transition to jet-powered flight.

Airfix - Junkers Ju87 R-2/B-2 Stuka Product Code: A07115A (Pre-Order Due June 2026) One of the most instantly recognisable aircraft from the Second World War era, the Junkers Ju-87 Stuka was an inverted gull-winged dive-bomber and ground-attack aircraft which made its first flight in 1935. With a two-man crew, up to four machine guns and the ability to carry 1800kg of bombs, the Stuka was rather a large aeroplane to be powered by a single V-12 Junkers Jumo engine, particularly when considering it weighed over four tonnes.

Airfix - Westland Lysander Mk.III Special Duties Product Code: A07117 (Pre-Order Due September 2026) In 1941, the RAF issued a requirement for around 40
of their Westland Lysander communications aircraft to undergo
modification in support of a new clandestine role, which they described
as ‘Special Duties’. The aircraft had defensive armament removed and
have their range increased by adding a larger oil tank internally, and
an external 150 gallon fuel tank under the fuselage. The gunner’s
compartment was also modified by adding a rear-sliding single piece
canopy, and room to accommodate up to three people inside. A robust
ladder was fixed to the port-side fuselage to allow passengers to
quickly enter and exit the aircraft when they were engaged in this new
‘Spy Taxi’ role.

Airfix - English Electric Lightning F.6 Product Code: A09178A (Pre-Order Due January 2026) When it comes to significant British aircraft of the post Second World War era, few have had anything like the impact of the English Electric Lightning. It was a supersonic sensation which was originally introduced to protect Britain’s V-Bomber airfields against Soviet bomber attack. The ultimate incarnation of this flying hot-rod was the Lightning F.6, an aircraft which took all the performance of its predecessors, and presented it with even more speed, greater range, and better handling. Scheme A: English Electric Lightning F.6, No.5 Squadron, (As deployed to Royal Air Force Luqa, Malta) Royal Air Force Binbrook, Lincolnshire, England, April 1977. (A) Scheme B: English Electric Lightning F.6, No.56 Squadron, British Aerospace Woodford, Cheshire, England, 1992. (B) Scheme C: English Electric Lightning F.6, No.11 Squadron, as displayed at Royal Air Force Museum, London. (C)

Airfix - Bristol Blenheim Mk.IF Product Code: A09186A (Pre-Order Due September 2026) As the world erupted into conflict in September 1939, the Royal Air Force had more Bristol Blenheims in service than any other aircraft type and it saw extensive service during the savage air battles. Used mainly in the light bomber role, around 200 Blenheims were also modified for use as long range fighter/night-fighters, with these aircraft being equipped with ventral packs mounted on their undersides, housing four forward-firing 0.303 machine guns. Production of these bespoke components, along with their mounting frames, was sub-contracted to the workshops of Southern Railway at their Ashford site in Kent.

Airfix - Fairey Gannet AS.1/AS.4 Export Schemes Product Code: A11007A (Pre-Order Due June 2026) When it comes to operating distinctive aeroplanes at sea, the Royal Navy have had more than their fair share of aircraft types, but perhaps the strangest looking (and sounding) was the Fairey Gannet. During the summer of 1950, a Gannet became the first turboprop-powered aircraft in the world to land on the deck of an aircraft carrier, and production deliveries of the most heavily produced AS.1 variant of the aircraft began in 1954. The Gannet also saw service with the navies of Australia, West Germany and Indonesia, but it was the Royal Navy who were the last to retire ‘in service’ examples of this rugged naval aircraft type.

Airfix - SEPECAT Jaguar T.2 & T.4 Product Code: A11011 (Pre-Order Due May 2026) Although the SEPECAT Jaguar actually started its development life as a joint Anglo-French project to produce an advanced new jet training aircraft for service with both nations, it later became a highly capable strike platform, with some aircraft further developed to undertake the pilot training and conversion roles. Always regarded as an attractive aeroplane, the tandem cockpit arrangement of the two-seat Jaguars made these aircraft even more appealing from an aesthetic perspective, with many enthusiasts regarding the training variant of the Jaguar as perhaps the best-looking of all Royal Air Force aircraft from the Cold War era.

Airfix - Westland Sea King HAR.3 Product Code: A11012 (Pre-Order Due September 2026) One of the most significant aircraft of the post-war era, even though Britain’s Westland Helicopters eventually produced well over 300 of the American Sea Kings, only a small number of these machines became some of the highest profile aircraft to ever serve within Britain’s armed forces. The robust and stable Sea King was an ideal aircraft with which to undertake the specialist Search & Rescue role across the UK, and Westland developed a number of Sea Kings specifically for this task.

Airfix - McDonnell Douglas Phantom FG.1 Product Code: A12015 (Pre-Order Due July 2026) Without doubt, one of the most successful jet aircraft of the post-war era, the incredible American-produced McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom saw service with a number of international air arms, with Britain becoming a significant operator. Originally purchased to equip the Royal Navy with a modern replacement for their ageing De Havilland Sea Vixens, Fleet Air Arm Phantoms had the primary role of defending the fleet against air attack in all weather, with a secondary role of providing devastating strike support.

Airfix - Grumman F6F-5 Hellcat Product Code: A19004A (Pre-Order Due July 2026) Few aircraft matched the impact of the Grumman F6F Hellcat, a rugged, reliable fighter built for ease of production and maintenance. Entering service in 1943, it dominated the Pacific Theatre, achieving a 19:1 kill ratio and accounting for nearly 75% of US Navy air victories—making aces of 305 pilots.

Airfix - Twin Pack - Eurofighter Typhoon FGR.4 (FMOG) + Hawker Typhoon Mk.Ib Product Code: A40001 (Pre-Order Due 2026) The impressive scheme applied to Typhoon FGR.4 ZJ913 took inspiration from the RAF No.257 (Burma) Squadron Hawker Typhoon Mk.Ib flown by Pilot Officer Denzil Jenkins in support of the D-Day landings on 6th June 1944, complete with the black and white identification markings which were such a distinctive feature of Allied aircraft operating over Normandy on D-Day.

Airfix - Twin Pack - Eurofighter Typhoon FGR.4 (GINA) + Hawker Hurricane Mk.I Product Code: A40002 (Pre-Order Due 2026) As Britain prepared to mark the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain in 2015, an aircraft unveiling at RAF Coningsby captured the imagination of enthusiasts and modellers alike, as one of the RAF’s cutting-edge Eurofighter Typhoon FGR.4 jets had a smart new paint scheme, which took its inspiration from a famous Fighter Command aircraft from 1940. This high-tech multi-role jet aircraft had been painted in a scheme similar to that worn by the Hawker Hurricane Mk.I flown by Flight Lieutenant James Brindley Nicolson on 16th August 1940, the day on which his actions in combat earned him a Victoria Cross - the only VC awarded to a Fighter Command pilot during the entire war.

Airfix - Twin Pack - Eurofighter Typhoon FGR.4 (Blackjack) + Shorts Tucano T.1 Product Code: A40003 (Pre-Order Due 2026) When it comes to specially presented RAF Typhoon FGR.4 display aircraft of the past 10 years, the one which served the longest on the UK airshow circuit, and was unquestionably the most patriotic in appearance was ZJ914. Resplendent in a smart all-over black Aggressor scheme, the aircraft also benefited from union flag style markings and an RAF roundel on each side of its tail, and no matter what the weather, when this aircraft displayed with afterburners engaged, it was an aviation sight to behold. The scheme was similar to the one worn by the RAF Shorts Tucano T.1 display during the 2008 season, which also had a black airframe, with red, white and blue detailing to mark the 90th anniversary of the Royal Air Force. Two Tucanos were presented in this manner: ZF210 and ZE338, with one serving as a reserve should the assigned display aircraft become unserviceable.

Airfix - Swedish Air Force 100th Anniversary Set Product Code: A40004 (Pre-Order Due June 2026) To mark this year’s centenary commemorations of the formation of the Swedish Air Force, this model set charts the development of the force from one which purchased overseas aircraft types, to one of the most powerful air forces in the world. By the start of the Second World War, the Swedish Air Force consisted of 180 aircraft of different types, but mainly purchased from countries such as Britain, the US, Germany, and Italy. Their first indigenous design was introduced in 1942, but in order to defend their neutrality, they continued strengthening with aircraft produced overseas. This continued into the jet age, however, Sweden was working hard to develop their own jet fighters, and when the most significant came, it was something very special: the SAAB J35 Draken supersonic interceptor. Since then, Sweden has continued to produce impressive new aircraft, often operating them from dispersed sites using public roads as runways, with SAAB cars sharing the road with SAAB fighters.

Airfix - Legends - Douglas Bader - Triple Pack Product Code: A40101 (Pre-Order Due May 2026) When Britain was standing alone
against the might of the all-conquering German war machine, they needed
heroes to steel the nation to its duty - men like Douglas Bader. Joining
the Royal Air Force in 1928, Bader was a gifted sportsman with the
reputation of a thrill seeker. However, he struggled with the academic
side of life at Cranwell. Douglas Bader’s story of courage and
determination inspired Britain in her darkest hours, and when a victory
flypast took place over London at the end of the war, it was hero Bader
who led the formation in a Spitfire.

introduced by the British Army during the early 1950s, the Saracen
protected its two-man crew and squad of 10 troops when they were sent
into hostile environments around the world, earning a reputation as one
of the most effective and reliable military vehicles of the post war
era. Build your own Saracen APC Mk in 1:76 scale with this Airfix

Airfix - 4x4 Tactical Aircraft Refueller Product Code: A02329A (Pre-Order Due July 2026) Introduced in the early 1970s, the Bedford MK FV 4x4 General Service Truck saw widespread service providing vital mobility for the British Army, whilst also being developed to fulfil several specialist roles. As an aircraft refueller, they serviced RAF and Army Air Corps helicopters and Harriers, particularly when they were being operated in off-airfield, tactical situations.

Airfix - Vickers Light Tank Product Code: A02330 (Pre-Order Due August 2026) One of the first mass-produced British tanks of the 1930s, the Vickers Light Tank was essentially an armoured reconnaissance vehicle. It was manufactured to an extremely high standard, with two Vickers machine guns mounted in its turret, although they couldn’t be fired at the same time. Used extensively by the BEF in France and in the Western Desert at the start of the Second World War, these reliable little tanks were no match for the firepower of the latest German and Italian guns. However, you can now build your own Vickers LIght Tank vehicle with this 1:76 model kit.
Paints required but not included: 3, 11, 30, 53, 63, 102
Airfix - Matilda Tank Product Code: A01318V (Pre-Order Due November 2026) One of the most underrated tanks of the Second World War, the Matilda was a heavy British infantry tank designed to support troop assaults against enemy positions, and during early Second World War engagements, proved to be exceptional in this role. In the Western Desert, it became the scourge of the Italian Army, earning the nickname the ‘Queen of the Desert’. You can now create your own 'Queen of the Desert' with this 1:76 scale Vintage Classics model kit.
Paints required but not included: 11, 33, 70, 63, 65, 86, 159
Airfix - Chieftain Tank Product Code: A02305V (Pre-Order Due August 2026) The British Army’s main Battle Tank from the late 1960s until the 1990s, the Chieftain was developed to counter the latest Soviet heavy tanks, but with firepower being its primary consideration. The Chieftain featured a powerful and incredibly accurate 120mm gun, with British crews posting impressively high first hit rate performance when using it during training. Thankfully, this Cold War sentinel never had to fire its main gun in anger. Build the mighty machine for yourself with this 1:76 scale Chieftain Tank model kit.

Airfix - Leopard Tank Product Code: A02306V (Pre-Order Due August 2026) The first all-German tank to appear since the Second World War, the Leopard was chosen by Belgium, Holland, and West Germany. Airfix - Centurion Mk.8 Tank Product Code: A02307V (Pre-Order Due August 2026) The Centurion Mk.8 was one of Britain’s most successful post-war tanks, combining heavy armour with excellent mobility and firepower. Airfix - Crash Recovery Set Product Code: A03305V (Pre-Order Due August 2026) The large number of wartime airfields and Maintenance Units scattered across the length and breadth of the UK must have been incredibly busy places during the 1940s and 50s, and have been a source of fascination for modellers since the beginning of our hobby. Replicating those scenes as scale model dioramas has been a popular pastime for many years, with this classic Recovery Set providing plenty of subject inspiration for imaginative modelling minds. Featuring a Bedford Ox and Queen Mary Trailer, along with a Thornycroft Amazon and crane, anything from a dismantled Spitfire to a Vickers Wellington fuselage could be added to this incredibly popular plastic model kit set to create a fascinating diorama scene.

Airfix - Alvis Saracen Mk.5 - 1:35 Product Code: A1385 (Pre-Order Due May 2026) Initially intending to produce the Saladin armoured car for the British Army, the worrying emergency in Malaya brought about an immediate change in priority, with the FV603 Saracen armoured personnel carrier being given priority. The Saracen was operated by a crew of two, with space in its rear compartment for ten troops, placing the commander and wireless operator in forward-facing seats behind the driver, with the eight troopers facing each other in two banks of four, and their backs on either side of the armoured chassis.

Airfix - Alvis Stalwart Mk.2 Limber - 1:35 Product Code: A1387 (Pre-Order Due April 2026) Looking like a vehicle you might expect to see emerging from the pod beneath Gerry Anderson’s Thunderbird 2, rather than a high-mobility load-carrier for the British Army, the Alvis Stalwart Mk.2 earned a go-anywhere, fear-nothing reputation during its 30-year service career. A fully amphibious vehicle, this particular variant was equipped with a powerful Atlas loader crane, designed specifically to transport and deliver ammunition for the British Army’s FV433 Abbott self-propelled gun, with each Abbott being assigned its own Stalwart for support. At its shortest extension, the Atlas loading arm could lift a load of three tons, reducing to just less than half that at its maximum four metre extension.

Airfix - Cromwell Mk.VII / Mk.VI (CS) - 1:35 Product Code: A1388 (Pre-Order Due September 2026) The speed and mobility of the British Cromwell Tank made it an excellent addition to the Allied armoured arsenal in the Second World War. Its most impressive feature was the V12 Meteor engine, an innovative derivative of the Rolls Royce Merlin engine which powered the Spitfires and Hurricanes of the Battle of Britain. This Cromwell Mk.VII/Mk.VI tank model kit is a great choice for modellers looking for a challenge in 1:35 scale.

Airfix - Avro 504K - 1:72 Product Code: A01085V (Pre-Order Due June 2026) One of the most important early British aircraft of the 20th century, the Avro 504 series was the most heavily produced aircraft to serve in a military capacity during the First World War, with the ‘K’ variant becoming the standard training aircraft for the Royal Air Force. Many would remain in service well into the 1930s, with the type enjoying an impressive 28 year service career.

Airfix - Mitsubishi KI-46-II “DINAH” - 1:72 Product Code: A02016V (Pre-Order Due November 2026) Unquestionably one of the most elegant aircraft of the Second World War, the Mitsubishi Ki-46 (Allied reporting name ‘Dinah’) was a high-performance reconnaissance aircraft which was later pressed into service as both an interceptor and strike attack platform. It was claimed that the Luftwaffe were so impressed with the Ki-46 that they attempted to secure manufacturing rights for it during the war.

Airfix - Douglas Dauntless SBD 3/5 - 1:72 Product Code: A02022V (Pre-Order Due October 2026) An aircraft which may look relatively innocuous but was actually an effective airborne warrior, the Douglas SBD Dauntless was the scourge of the Imperial Japanese Navy and the aircraft which allowed the US Navy to strike back after the Pearl Harbor attack. Sinking more Japanese shipping than any other aircraft during the Second World War, the Dauntless also claimed a great many Japanese aircraft destroyed in aerial combat during the Pacific war.

Airfix - Shorts Skyvan - 1:72 Product Code: A04018V (Pre-Order Due May 2026) The Short SC.7 Skyvan was a British twin-turboprop transport aircraft first flown in 1963. Produced until 1986, around 150 were built. Designed for simplicity and low operating costs, its Skyvan 3 variant was the most common.
