Airfix - Hawker Hurricane MkI 'Early' - 1:72 (A02067)
The maiden flight of the first production Hurricane, powered by a Merlin II
engine, took place on 12 October 1937. The first four aircraft to enter
service with the RAF joined No. 111 Squadron RAF at RAF Northolt the
following December. By the outbreak of the Second World War, nearly 500
Hurricanes had been produced. This early version had fabric-covered wings.
Features fabric effect on wings and fuselage. Optional 2 and 3 blade
propellers. Optional exhaust stacks, cockpit armour and radio masts. Can be
built to represent early airframes with small rudder, or later airframes
with large rudder and tailfin extension. Detailed cockpit and undercarriage
bay.
