Hornby Grimethorpe Coalite 21 Tonne Hopper Wagon
Triple Pack. Numbers 206, 210, and 640. Grimethorpe Colliery was part of
a large and highly productive Coalite facility near Barnsley in South
Yorkshire. Coalite was a type of low-temperature coke used as smokeless
fuel. Wagons such as these were used on the internal rail system and in
coal trains. The colliery closed in 1993 and the Coalite plant closed
