Production Details:
This locomotive started its career in March 1954 at
Kirkby Stephen and operated on the Trans-Pennine Stainmore route, where
it famously rescued fellow 2MT No. 78018, which was stuck in a snowdrift
at Bleath Gill. Retired from Crewe South in November 1966, it was later
rescued from Barry scrapyard in 1973 and moved to the Severn Valley
Railway, before transfer in 1998 for overhaul by the Loughborough
Standard Locomotive Group, who returned it to steam in 2004.
